BE Aerospace purchased a Grimco Compression press and required a specialist logistics company to manage and execute the manufacturing equipment relocation from USA to Ireland. This included the transportation, Rigging and assembly of their newly purchased equipment in their facility in Kilkeel, Co. Down.
WHAT WAS INVOLVED
This Manufacturing Equipment Relocation project was divided into two phases. Phase 1 of the project involved planning, project management and a professional moving service from an experienced Cronin Movers team with specialist expertise in Machinery Moving, reporting into BE Aerospace project manager Barry Elmore.
The Grimco Compression Press has a total weight of approx. 60 ton, and arrived in Ireland in four individual sections ranging in size and weight from 10 to 20 ton. Phase 1 of the project involved collection from the port, unloading from transport containers at Cronin Movers facility, and loading onto 13.6 metre euro liner trailers in preparation for the journey to Kilkeel, Co. Down.
THE OUTCOME
Phase 1 of the project took place over 3 days in March 2017 ensuring a seamless transition.
