Our client provides value added services to International companies shipping and installing solutions into offices across Ireland. Our Specialist Logistics team was engaged to provide additional support in the delivery, offloading and positioning of soundproofed meeting rooms for Irish customers.

WHAT WAS INVOLVED

Open plan offices are common in the workplace, but inevitably there are times when meetings need to be held without interrupting everyone else in the workplace. That’s when these soundproofed phone booths and meeting rooms come into their own. These self-contained ‘plug and go’ style units rapidly create dedicated private meeting spaces in open plan offices. They offer full connectivity for laptops, with audio visual equipment and air conditioning.

The North American manufacturer of the units delivers the flatpack units, through our client, to our secure warehouse. Our Specialist Logistics team provide a complete service to ensure the units are delivered, assembled and fully operational for their Irish customers across the whole island.

We liaise with the facilities management team at the customer location to book the delivery, offloading and positioning of the pod units onsite. We check access restrictions, availability of service lifts and height clearances for moving the equipment to the final position in the offices. Once the equipment is at the final destination our team assembles the unit onsite, carries out all electrical and network connections and ensures the unit is ready for use.

THE OUTCOME

This is a good example of where our team effectively has multiple clients to satisfy in completing the work. The manufacturer wants the confidence of knowing the equipment is being stored and handled correctly. Our client needs to ensure the logistics of delivering and assembling onsite is completed to the required quality standard.

Ultimately the customer receiving the units needs to be satisfied that the unit is fit for purpose and blends into their office environment with the minimal of disruption to their staff and facilities. Our team record all aspects of the final installation including video footage and photographs of the final installation to demonstrate compliance to standards.
