Built into the business
Environmental responsibility is part of how we work.
Our environmental management system is certified to ISO 14001. It gives us a structured way to identify environmental impacts, put controls in place, monitor performance and keep improving. Our environmental policy commits us to complying with applicable Irish and EU legislation and reducing our environmental footprint.
We set improvement targets and review performance regularly. Our sustainability manager works with clients to understand their objectives and shape practical plans for each project.
-
ISO 14001 certified
An established framework for managing and improving environmental performance.
-
Licensed waste collection
Waste streams are managed under our Waste Collection Permit and project requirements.
-
Client-focused plans
Reuse, segregation, recovery and reporting are considered from the planning stage.
Circular thinking
Make more use of what already exists.
We help clients plan clearances and relocations around reuse and recovery. Furniture, wood, metal, paper, WEEE and confidential materials are separated and directed to appropriate routes, with bespoke waste plans where needed.
-
Prioritise reuse
Identify items that can stay in use, be redeployed or donated before disposal.
-
Segregate and audit
Regular waste audits help us track streams, improve separation and support clients’ recycling and waste reduction goals.
-
Work towards less landfill
We actively seek to divert waste from landfill and support client initiatives aimed at zero waste to landfill.
On every journey
Practical changes across our operations.
-
A lower-emission fleet
Electric vehicles currently make up 10% of our fleet. We are transitioning towards more EVs and plug-in hybrids, while telematics helps us review fuel use, routes and vehicle performance.
-
Smarter driving
We are implementing eco-driver training on steady speeds, smoother braking and acceleration, appropriate cruise control use and efficient journey planning.
-
Packaging with less waste
We increasingly use recycled paper and cardboard, reusable solutions, plant-based and compostable materials, and paper stretch wrap as an alternative to conventional plastic pallet wrap.
-
Training for everyone
Operational, driving, administrative and management teams receive environmental awareness training at induction and through ongoing development, with refresher training to keep it current.
Our people
Small decisions add up.
Training covers waste segregation, energy efficiency, pollution prevention, legal responsibilities and each person’s role. By reviewing our impacts and progress, we turn environmental awareness into everyday practice.
BUILDING A STRONGER COMMUNITY
We believe that CSR is a critical aspect of building a stronger community. Cronin Group actively participates in initiatives that benefit the local community, contributing to the greater good. HOME FARM FOOTBALL CLUB
We support Home Farm through a 5-year sponsorship deal. The deal will provide some much-needed funding to help the club continue its great work encouraging and supporting local young people to develop their skills, not only in football, but in being part of a team and experiencing the benefits of training. These are life skills that they take with them into the world of work.
BOWLING LEAGUE OF IRELAND ACADEMY

PETER MCVERRY TRUST
Every year the Peter McVerry Cycle – a 130km cycle from Dublin to Wexford raises vital funds for the Peter McVerry Trust. This well-known charity is a national housing and homeless charity committed to reducing homelessness and the harm caused by substance misuse and social disadvantage. Our Cronin Movers team provide our free time and cover the costs of running support vehicles for the cyclists taking part in this worthwhile charity event.
WORKING TOWARDS A SUSTAINABLE WORLD
We are committed to working towards a sustainable future. This means taking a proactive approach towards preserving the environment, conserving natural resources, and minimizing waste.
SUPPORTING THE ENVIRONMENT
At our Dublin base on the edge of the Industrial Estate, we have increased our focus on our natural environment. On our property we are embracing biodiversity by cultivating a mini-meadow with wild grasses and flowers to support pollination and provide a habitat that encourages insects and birds. We have also upcycled off-cuts of timber from our crating work to make bird boxes, which cater for different species of birds and have been hung up adjacent to our meadow.
MULHUDDART MEN’S SHED
As part of our business operations, we endeavour to minimise waste and we actively encourage recycling and reuse. Our support to Mulhuddart Men’s Shed includes providing broken pallets and offcuts from export crating that can be repurposed by this fantastic group.
