Background The Cronin Movers heavy lift team was selected to support and assist with the rigging and elevation of 2 no. chillers and 2 no. AHU’s at Dublin Airport to assist the roofing contractor to resurface the roof under the chillers and AHU’s. What was involved? The project involved instrumental planning, project management, professional rigging service from a dedicated Cronin Movers heavy lift team reporting directly to the project manager. The two-phase project involved the rigging of 2 no. chillers weighing 3 ton each, 2 no. air handling units weighing approx. 2.5 ton each and all the associated equipment. Phase 1 of the project consisted of lifting up each piece of equipment approx. 1 meter from its original base and setting them down on purpose-built temporary steel legs. This highly skilled process was carried out using heavy lift jacks and dolly blocks. Phase 2 of the project will consist of the equipment being lowered back down to its original level once all the roof resurfacing is complete. The Outcome Phase 1 and 2 will took place over 6 days.
