The deal, signed on 16 May, will enable the combined business to leverage synergies and increase cost efficiencies.

Dublin based Cronin Movers Group has become synonymous with workplace relocation, machinery moving and specialist logistics services for over 30 years. As part of a continued growth strategy, the business announced the acquisition of William Tracey & Sons, a family owned business specialising in corporate moves for public and private sector organisations. The acquisition was negotiated over a six month period and came into effect on 16 May.

The William Tracey & Sons brand has a heritage dating back to 1947. The brand will be retained and it will be business as usual as the team is transferred under TUPE arrangements to Cronin Movers Group.

“We are delighted that the William Tracey & Sons business has become part of the Cronin Movers Group,” said Tim Cronin, Managing Director of Cronin Movers Group.

“They have an outstanding reputation in the industry and their professional services are highly regarded by their customers. We are keen to build on that reputation and grow the corporate movers business, while leveraging shared services to benefit the whole group.”

“We are very happy with this new arrangement with the Cronin Movers Group,” said William Tracey, “the fact that the William Tracey and Sons brand will be maintained will ensure the continued trust and confidence of our customer base, but being part of a larger enterprise will strengthen the company’s ability to deliver a high quality service and offer new services and facilities to all our customers. This is a very positive move for the transport sector in Dublin and indeed Ireland.”

The transaction ensures that the business will continue to trade under the William Tracey and Sons brand which will be wholly owned by Cronin Movers Group.
